Using Manual Lenses (Quick Tips)

If you’ve not used legacy/manual lenses before, you’re in for a treat — they can have loads of character compared with some modern glass.

How to shoot:

1. Set your camera to Aperture Priority (A/Av)

2. Choose your aperture on the lens ring

3. Use focus peaking / focus magnification to nail focus

4. The camera will automatically select the correct shutter speed — simple.

Important setting (some cameras):

• You may need to enable “Release/Shutter without lens” (wording varies by model).
