This lens has been fully tested and is working superbly.

It has a snappy aperture, very smooth manual focus, and is a great example of this lens.

The lens has a lovely all-metal construction with a solid, weighty feel that many modern lenses simply do not have. Optically, it is very clean. There may be the odd tiny dust speck as expected with a vintage lens, but nothing that affects image quality in any way. My lenses are always stored carefully in a light, dry room with a dehumidifier running 24/7.

This lens is supplied ready to use with Sony E-mount cameras via the included adapter, and it works very well on both full frame and APS-C Sony mirrorless bodies.

I have personally used it on my Sony A7 full frame and Sony NEX-7, where it performs beautifully.

Sony A5000, A5100, A6000, A6100, A6300, A6400, A6500

Sony NEX-3, NEX-5, NEX-6, NEX-7

In general, this type of lens is best suited to mirrorless cameras with focus peaking and focus magnification, as these features make manual focusing very easy and enjoyable.

How to use:

Set your camera to Aperture Priority (A / AV) mode, choose the aperture you want on the lens itself, and the camera will automatically select the correct shutter speed. Metering still works, but focusing is manual, so simply use focus peaking and focus assist/magnification to get sharp results.

If you have never used legacy lenses before, they are well worth trying. Vintage glass often gives images far more character than many modern lenses, which can sometimes look a little flat by comparison. Using lenses like this slows photography down in a good way and makes the whole process much more enjoyable.
